KENT: Chartwell, home to Sir Winston Churchill and his family for over 40 years, is 5 minutes’ drive from the gallery. The National Trust property is decorated as it was in the 1930s and includes glorious gardens, Churchill’s art studio and the largest collection of his paintings. Quebec House in Westerham, was the birthplace of General James Wolfe who achieved victory over the French army in 1759 at Quebec. Like Sir Winston Churchill, there is a statue commemorating him on The Green. The National Trust property has a pretty garden, second hand bookshop and activities for children. SURREY: Watts Gallery and Chapel, Compton, near Guildford: A remarkable Arts and Crafts Movement chapel, the gallery of Victorian painter/sculptor George Frederic Watts and Limnerlease, the home of Mary Watts and GF Watts. The Watts Gallery and Limnerlease are closed on Mondays (except Bank Holidays), the house requires pre-booked tour tickets. Mary Watts’ chapel incorporated early Christian art and Celtic symbolism, hand-crafted by the village residents. The Eltham Palace Art Deco Fair takes place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 2018 from 10am-6pm. We are taking an Epstein Cloud Three Piece Suite banded in burr walnut, a part of Art Deco Cloud armchairs banded in burr maple, as well as an elegant Cocktail Cabinet and a Cocktail Sideboard. We will also be showing new stock of museum quality Art Deco jewellery by Jakob Bengel of Idar-Oberstein, circa 1930s. The Design Gallery is open both days as usual. Scent bottles from the early 20th century through to the 1990s will be on sale in The Design Gallery from Saturday 21st April 2018. From the prettiest Art Nouveau designs, geometric, skyscraper-inspired shapes of Art Deco, through to the new classics of the 1960s with Christian Dior and Chanel and onwards to the power perfumes of the 1980s, a wide range will be available. We are attending the De La Warr Pavilion “20th Century Decorative Arts Fair” on 27th and 28th January 2018. It is open from 10am-4pm. We will be showing fine quality Art Deco furniture, lighting, bronze sculpture and jewellery. The Design Gallery will be open as usual.

The De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill is the venue for an exciting Decorative Arts Fair on 17th and 18th June 2017, 10am-4pm. We will showing fine examples of British Art Deco including Art Deco cloud dining and lounge suites by Epstein. The Design Gallery will be exhibiting both on the stage (furniture and lighting) and in the main hall on the right-hand side as you enter (Art Deco jewellery). The gallery will be open as usual. The Warehouse Sale will take place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April 2017 from 10am-5pm at EASISTORE, Enterprise Way, Edenbridge, Kent TN8 6HF. Come and browse over 2000 sq.ft. of unrestored Arts and Crafts Movement, Art Nouveau and Art Deco furniture at bargain prices. We can also restore the pieces for you. The Design Gallery will be open extended hours for that weekend: Saturday 22nd April 2017 10am-5.30pm and Sunday 23rd April 2017 10am-5pm. A great deal of warehouse stock is not shown on the website yet. As well as furniture, we will be including some lighting, metal wares, and Art Nouveau enamel signs in the sale – these items will be at the warehouse.
