Art Nouveau Silver Tea Service by Haseler, Birmingam, with teapot, hot water jug, milk and sugar.
A distinctive design from 1911 anticipating the shift from curvilinear to geometric lines characteristic of the transition from Art Nouveau/Jugendstil to Art Deco. The shape of the teapot is reminiscent of Aladdin’s lamp and may have been inspired by the Edwardian musical comedy New Aladdin. The teapot dates to 1923 by the same firm.
